Thrift Finds: Linen Romper, Shaggy Cardigan, & Vintage Hat

My most recent thrifting trip to Angel View in Palm Desert on Highway 111, again, did not disappoint. I practically thrifted this entire outfit for under $25! The only thing not thrifted were the boots, which I’ve had for a while now. Can you believe it?! The thrifting scene is at least 10x better than the shopping scene out here in the Coachella Valley. I can’t believe it took me a year to get into it. I am so late – but better late than never, right?

This junior’s Indigo Rein linen romper was purchased in like-new condition, with no signs of wear. It was only $8! It is a size medium, so just a tad too big on my chest area. Luckily, it doesn’t look terrible. In fact, it actually fits perfectly around the waist all thanks to the cinch & tie design. I’ve been wearing this gem on repeat lately because it’s so easy to throw on, is cooling, and I don’t have to wear a bra with it!

I cannot wait to wear this Halogen shaggy cardigan originally from Nordstrom in the fall and winter months. It retailed for about $60 and I got it for $8. It is extremely soft and oh-so-cozy! I love that it’s not too long, so it doesn’t take away from the rest of the outfit. Even though it’s a size small, it definitely runs larger. The sleeves are way too long on me but I guess that’s what makes it extra cuddly.

Ever since I started thrifting clothing & accessories, I have greatly expanded my hat collection. This plum-colored vintage hat is one of my favorites – for only $6. It looks so unique and has been challenging to style but I just can’t stop looking at it. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if the hat went well with this look but because the color matched so perfectly with that of the cardigan, I just HAD to. So far, this Angel View location has had a lot of great vintage hats. I got another one by the same brand that I’ll be styling in an upcoming thrifted look, so stay tuned for that! As far as the actual brand name goes, I don’t know what it is but I just know they’re the same because they have identical stamps inside.

With fall creeping up on us, I’ll be wearing outfits like this more often. Believe it or not, I’m ready to put on my layers and explore the outdoors more. I just thrifted the softest crop sweater from another Angel View location and can’t wait to start wearing it. Unfortunately, it’s still way too hot for that right now 🙁 We’ve been cooped up at home a lot this summer thanks to the extreme heat and humidity. Trust me – not a comfortable combo!

What do you think of this thrifted outfit? Would you wear it as a summer-to-fall transitionary look?

    1. Haha I wish I got into thrifting earlier back when I lived in LA. I can only imagine how much better their thrift stores must be because it’s a way more populated city, and they have many more shops to explore. But I can’t complain – it’s pretty great out here in the desert too! I will have to check out the thrift shops in the UK the next time I visit!
