Even though it’s been nothing but scorching hot in LA lately, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has got me thinking about fall outfits already. It sucks that I probably won’t be able to wear any of my fall finds for another month or two, but it never hurts to be prepared, right? Summer is my favorite season and I absolutely love being able to throw on a pair of shorts and an easy breezy tank top. At the same time though, I do enjoy wearing thicker layers, staying comfy in jeans, and walking in boots. Looking to revamp your wardrobe for the upcoming season? Check out my top three early summer to fall transitionary looks! 🙂
Olive is one of my favorite colors to wear in fall. It’s just so pretty and complements neutral wardrobe staples really well. For example, I would throw on a long olive vest over a plain white tee and my go-to pair of black denim and booties (or over-the-knee boots!). On warmer days, I might swap out the jeans for a pair of black denim shorts. This look is not only classy and chic, it’s also effortless! You can never go wrong with that.
If it’s not olive, I’m probably wearing some form of burgundy in fall. It’s just one of those colors that look amazing on pretty much any skin tone, and is perfect for the holidays. A trend I’ve been dying to try recently is styling the good ol’ scarf. I love that it can easily be tied around the neck, on a purse, or on the head. It’s a versatile piece that can add warmth and a little something extra without having to wear jewelry.
For a quick and easy girl next door look, I love a good flannel plaid shirt. Styled with shorts or jeans and a camisole underneath, it’s a versatile transitionary piece. Not only can it be worn buttoned up or unbuttoned altogether, it can also be tied around the waist during the warmer hours of the day. So many options! Complete the look with a simple necklace, a matching bag, and a comfortable pair of sneakers.
