There is nothing better than taking a few hours out of a hectic week to just soak up the sun and forget about responsibilities for a while. Work has been keeping me super busy these days and sometimes I forget to take a moment to enjoy the outdoors. These days, summer is in full bloom with gorgeous blue skies and rays shining down on full blast. Earlier this week, my boyfriend and I wanted to go out and have a nice little picnic in Malibu. On our way there, we ventured out to the fields to grab a few shots of me wearing this gorgeous red and floral print front-wrap maxi by Meritt Clothing Label from Shop Impressions.
I rarely ever wear dresses with sleeves on them, but this one is definitely a keeper. It’s super stretchy, yet fitting, and still airy, all at the same time. In other words, it’s perfect for summer time. If you read my post about colors to wear to accentuate a tan, you’ll know that coral and bright colors are great options. This silhouette definitely helps to bring out my glow, especially shooting in direct sunlight.
To be honest, I was wearing flip flops under this dress. Luckily, it was long enough to cover them. I started out wearing heels but then thought to myself, “who actually wears heels out to the wheat fields?!” It’s true. I was able to move around so much easier with those flip flops! Needless to say, our picnic date was pretty comfortable. To complement the pretty hints of turquoise and purple on the dress, I wore my turquoise statement necklace and purple watch to complete the look! 🙂
What do you like to do to “unplug” from work for a few hours in the summer?
