If You’re a Bird, I’m a Bird

If you haven’t already noticed, I’m obsessed with maxi dresses year-round. Particularly, there’s something breathtaking about a silhouette with embroidered doves. When I saw this gorgeous gown on DEZZAL’s website, I immediately had a vision for how I wanted to style it. First, it reminded me of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video (yes, throwing it all the way back to 2009!). I clearly remembered she was wearing a long gown with some sort of pretty headpiece that made her look really ethereal. Similarly, this one is very romantic. I’m a sucker for romance. One of my favorite movies of all time is “The Notebook,” and the phrase that speaks to me most from that movie is “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.”

Anyway, I don’t even know what I’m trying to get at… other than the fact that it’s so crazy how certain articles of clothing can lead to such interesting trains of thought! 😀

Honestly, this dress speaks for itself, so I’ll keep this post short and sweet. I got this headpiece some time last year on sale at Charlotte Russe. It’s definitely not something that I can wear on the daily, so I’m glad I finally found an appropriate time to wear it. The orange roses complement the dress beautifully, especially during this time of day. There was no better time than sunset to shoot in this number. The glow really helps to create a more amorous and dreamy mood!

After all this romantic talk, all I want to do is just Netflix and chill. By that, I mean watch “The Notebook” with Babadook while munching on some buttery popcorn. This week, David is in Chicago to see his family while I’m here working. I have to admit, it feels a bit odd sleeping in the bed alone and having the entire apartment to myself!
