Embroidered Moto Jackets to Buy This Fall

Posted on Location: 1 m read

Though far from the typical desert-chic style, I’ve always appreciated a good moto jacket. I picked up a stunning embroidered moto jacket by BLANK NYC at my local Marshalls recently and can’t get enough of it. The best part is, it was only $80 (retail $175)! The stud detailing adds a nice edgy touch, while the embroidery balances the look out with the perfect amount of femme florals and a splash of color. If you’re looking to invest in an embroidered moto jacket this fall, check out some of my favorites below!

The $8 Sleeveless Military Dress I Thrifted from Goodwill

On one of my weekly thrift store trips earlier this month, I scored this sleeveless military dress for just $8 at Goodwill in La Quinta. You might have seen my recent post about how much I love the olive color for fall. This dress is no exception, and the styling options are endless! Since it’s still pretty hot out, I haven’t quite pulled out my leggings to wear underneath just yet… but you can bet I will in a few months!

One-Year Anniversary with Clarins Double Serum

***Special thanks to Clarins for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.***

This time last year, I started using the Double Serum by Clarins and instantly fell in love! I am excited to share that after a year of consistent use, I still love it as much as I did on day one. If you haven’t had the chance to try it yet, this holy grail is a two-in-one serum infused with turmeric extract and 20 other skin-loving plant ingredients. Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and soothing properties make it beneficial for the body both inside and out. Needless to say, Double Serum is one of the best treats I’ve given my skin in my 20’s, and I know I’ll be using #MyDoubleSerum, my skincare hero, for many years to come.

How to Create an Everyday Smokey Eye in 5 Simple Steps

If there was one makeup style I had to wear for the rest of my life, it would be the good ol’ smokey eye. As much as I’m all for embracing natural beauty, the “no makeup-makeup look” is a bit plain on me. If you haven’t noticed, I’m wearing a smokey eye in almost all my photos. I feel like it really helps to not only bring out my eyes, but the rest of my facial features too. Some may call me high-maintenance for putting on a smokey eye every time I do my makeup. However, after years of practice, I’ve definitely picked up on techniques to perfect that everyday smokey eye efficiently. If you’re looking to master a classic smokey eye in time for the fall and winter months, it’s time to stock up on some staple eye products and follow these 5 simple steps.

Fashionable Crop Tops to Beat the Heat In this Summer

It’s crazy that we’re practically in the middle of August already – which means that summer is almost over. Is it just me though, or does it feel like this summer is never-ending? To be honest, I am looking forward to cooler temperatures. Summer is usually my favorite season because of the warmth and longer days, but the heat is a bit too extreme in the desert for me to fully enjoy it. The AC in one of our cars decided to go out the other day when we drove out 3o minutes to shoot some looks, and the ride back in 118 degree weather with no AC was absolutely brutal. I felt like I was going to faint by the time we got home! On top of hydrating, keeping as cool as possible outside is so important when it’s hot. Lately, I have been beating the heat with crop tops. They are easy to wear, and super cute with high-waisted bottoms!

Comeback of the Dolphin Shorts Trend

Posted on Location: 1 m read

With temperatures soaring to 120 degrees in Palm Springs, the retro dolphin shorts trend from the 80’s has definitely made a comeback in my closet. I remember wearing these shorts often growing up – they were easy to wear, comfortable, and ideal for both lounging around at home and casually running errands outside. Those of you who know me may know that I have a hard time turning down short-shorts & short skirts, because of how extra long and slim they make my legs look! Even for a relatively tall Asian girl, I’ll happily take all the height I can get. I mean, who wouldn’t, right?

12 Lip Tints You Need in Your Makeup Bag Now

Posted on Location: 1 m read

Originally a hit in Korea, lip tints have become widespread and popular in the United States over the years – for a multitude reasons. In my younger years of wearing makeup, I loved traditional lip gloss – no matter how sticky it was. Somehow, I was just obsessed with how the gloss looked on my lips, as it gave a much fuller appearance. As I got older, I couldn’t be bothered by my hair getting stuck in the gloss or just feeling sticky all the time. Lipsticks are often drying to my lips, so I’ve always steered clear from those whenever possible. I also didn’t like how the color would often transfer onto my teeth. Once I was introduced to lip tints, my whole lip game changed!

Styling a Living Space with Vintage Thrift Finds

Posted on Location: 1 m read

Thrifting has become a favorite past-time for me and David the past couple of months. We are amazed at how fun and easy it is to style a living space with thrifted finds! I have been crushing on all things vintage lately, so we are always on the hunt for cool items that fit that bill when we shop at our local thrift stores. After moving into a house literally double the size of our last place, we started thrifting to fill bare walls and empty space quickly without breaking the bank. We moved from a 2 bed 2 bath (in our case, master bedroom and office) condo to a 3 bed 3 bath house… which means we actually have a guest room now!
