Happy #TravelTuesday! I’m finally back in LA and will be busy settling into our new apartment for the next couple of days, but here’s a quick photo diary of my travels in Illinois. 🙂
Unfortunately, it was really rainy and gloomy for most of the time we spent there, which spanned over 4 days, but we still had a nice time. It wasn’t as cold as it was in the states we stopped at prior to this, so it was nice to be able to finally wear a different coat. We seized every opportunity to explore when it was bearable out.
I got to meet more of Potter’s family and I had my first all-American Christmas dinner with them!
We explored the Chicago Botanical Gardens on one of the days and the Japanese garden was my favorite of all! I loved the structure and beauty of the bonsai trees. There was a bit of sun which allowed for some beautiful colors in the photos!
On the day before Christmas Eve, we decided to join the city mayhem and check out downtown Chicago. It was probably not the best idea, because it was jam-packed and super crowded. I do not prefer crowded places, but somehow really appreciate tall buildings and the beauty of cities. Despite the fact that it was a bit stressful maneuvering the city on this day, we were able to visit the big monumental bean and check out the huge Macy’s in the shopping area!
Chicago had a beautiful selection of postcards, so I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to get a bunch and write to friends & family. <3 Stay tuned for my next photo diary! xoxo

So glad you enjoyed Chicago and that it wasn’t horribly cold while you were there! It’s such a cool city with so much to explore. And yay for meeting some more of your bf’s family! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more from your trip!
