Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! Still making plans with your special someone but don’t want to break your bank? A quality day spent with your love doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, sometimes, the best dates are the ones that are simply creative & don’t necessarily cost a whole lot… after all, it’s the thought that counts, right? No money can buy true love, companionship, and the time you make for each other!
So, with this in mind, here are 5 wallet-friendly, fun & romantic Valentine date ideas to get your creative juices flowing in case you’re still solidifying plans!
If you’re a night person, you’ll love this night-time activity! If not… well, it’s your chance to get out of your comfort zone and appreciate mother nature at night. Nothing better than enjoying the vast sky of stars while sharing stories or having a good conversation. It can be quite calming and romantic when it’s just the two of you… And if you’re lucky, you may even spot a shooting star!
2. Bike Ride & Picnic
Start your morning off with some movement by going on a bike ride together! After the ride, you’ll definitely be hungry. This may sound old-school, but maybe that’s why we’re bringing it back like we’re bringing sexy back! 😉 Picnicking is a great way to spend quality time with your significant other, whether it’s at a park, beach, or at a nice overlook. Pack a couple sandwiches or salads of your choice along with your favourite juices (or water if you’re not a juice person… or apple cider/champagne if you’re feeling classy!), some fruits, two bags of chips… and maybe a book to read together, & you’re all set! Oh, and don’t forget to bring a blanket to cuddle in!
3. Prepare a Fancy Dinner
We all know how expensive fancy dinners can get. Unfortunately, not all of us are in a place to be splurging on a $300+ meal for two, so why not prepare a fancy dinner & enjoy it from the comfort of your home together? This will test your teamwork skills with your partner and allow both of you to go grocery shopping & make something delicious together. Another great perk about a homemade dinner is that you two can cook according to health needs/preferences. Personally, I’m thinking steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli… with two glasses of apple cider or champagne. Do you have a better idea?
4. Get a Couple’s Massage
We spend most of our days busy working & stressing out over daily life… so why not invest a bit on a couple’s massage? This is a great way to relax and “detox” your body, in a way. After loosening up those muscles and feeling good, hit up the beach & soak up the sun a bit together before the sun goes down!
5. Road-trip & Explore Somewhere New
Traveling doesn’t always involve an expensive plane ticket! If you’re on a budget, road-tripping is a great way to get out of where you live & have a mini “vacation.” Even if it’s just a couple cities or the next state over, it can make a huge difference in scenery & vibes! Plus, nothing beats the idea of exploring a new place with the love of your life. Can you take a wild guess where Potter and I went? It’s not a new place for either of us, but it was a new place we went to together. Trust me, it makes a difference! We had a lot of fun, and I’m hoping we get to do some exploring in a new place this Valentine’s Day. 🙂
