Though far from the typical desert-chic style, I’ve always appreciated a good moto jacket. I picked up a stunning embroidered moto jacket by BLANK NYC at my local Marshalls recently and can’t get enough of it. The best part is, it was only $80 (retail $175)! The stud detailing adds a nice edgy touch, while the embroidery balances the look out with the perfect amount of femme florals and a splash of color. Here’s a little not-so-secret backstory: I got up at 5 AM to shoot this outfit because I knew that it was going to be way too hot for me to shoot past sunrise hour. It is still far from leggings & layering season in Palm Springs. Down into the golf course we live on, there’s a little underpass that sort of works as a “grungy location” which was what I was going for. It’s the grungiest you’ll get in our neighborhood, at least. Luckily, since the spot is practically outside our house, it was a pretty short bike ride to get to it. Still, by the time we got there, it was already at least 85 degrees. I was uncomfortably sweating in this heavy jacket, long sleeve shirt underneath, leggings, boots, and a hat. But I’d have to say that it was worth it. This is one of my favorite looks to wear in autumn, especially when I’m traveling outside of the desert.
My go-to outfit is a classic all-black look when it comes to styling moto jackets. Okay, maybe throw in a punch of olive in there too 😉 How do you like to wear yours?
