Summer Travels with Steamline Luggage

Posted on Location: 1 m read

***Special thanks to Steamline Luggage for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.***

If you’ve been following along on my Instagram stories for the past month or so, you’ll have seen that we’ve been working hard on decorating our rustic-vintage guest bedroom (inspired by the Airbnb we stayed at in New York recently). We’ve been doing plenty of local thrifting to score unique finds, but ultimately, I think my Steamline LuggageΒ completes the vintage vibe of the room. Who doesn’t love luggage that’s not only visually appealing, but also fun to take along on trips? David & I had our 4 year anniversary last week, but we’ll be celebrating later this month somewhere cooler to escape this desert heat. Cannot wait to travel in style with my new babies!

Why Every Traveler Should Own a Miniature Backpack

Posted on Location: 1 m read

Packing light has always been a bit of a struggle for me, especially when headed somewhere cold. Winter clothing is much bulkier than the clothes I’m used to wearing out in the desert. This restricts me from bringing a whole lot. On my recent trip to New York City, my luggage was pretty stuffed with thick jackets & sweaters, so there wasn’t much room left for other accessories. In fact, I was only able to bring one bag. Can you guess what it was? A miniature backpack! It was my best travel companion (aside from David of course). Together, we explored the city and hiked in the suburbs.

My First Airbnb Experience

Posted on Location: 1 m read

Just a little over a week ago, David and I had our first ever Airbnb experience together. For past travels, we’ve either just stayed at a hotel or crashed at a friend or family member’s house. We had such a great time, and expectations were more than met. At the last minute, we decided we wanted to go to NYC before the Palm Springs airport stopped doing direct flights to New York in the summer. Unfortunately, hotel prices were already going up. I didn’t want to settle for a mediocre or less-than-mediocre hotel, so I resorted to browsing through Airbnb listings. Best decision ever — since I was able to find the cutest little abode for our 4-night stay without breaking the bank!

New York Packing Essentials

Posted on Location: 1 m read

It’s hard to believe that I’ll be headed off to New York in just a few days! I’m excited to start traveling again but will definitely miss the warm weather in Palm Springs. As you might imagine, I don’t really have much in my closet that’ll allow me to survive in frigid temperatures. For the past month, I’ve been frantically shopping for an all-new wardrobe just for this trip. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck finding winter weather clothing because stores here have already moved on to their Spring collections. At this point, I figure worst comes to worst, I’ll pick up what I need when I get there… but the anxiety of not being fully prepared sucks. But hey, an excuse to go shopping in New York, right? πŸ˜‰

A Rare Snow Day

Posted on Location: 3 m read

Two weeks ago, it got cold enough for the mountains of Idyllwild to be completely covered in snow! I know that this might not sound like a big deal for some of you… but when you’re living somewhere where the temperatures typically don’t dip below 65 degrees out during the day, I’d say that snowfall is quite a treat!Β Believe it or not, this snowy retreat is just a little over an hour away from where we live in sunny Palm Springs. David and I took a day trip up to Idyllwild with the dogs and it was Rolly’s first time experiencing snow. It was pure delight!
