Fashionable Crop Tops to Beat the Heat In this Summer

Posted on Location: 1 m read

It’s crazy that we’re practically in the middle of August already – which means that summer is almost over. Is it just me though, or does it feel like this summer is never-ending? To be honest, I am looking forward to cooler temperatures. Summer is usually my favorite season because of the warmth and longer days, but the heat is a bit too extreme in the desert for me to fully enjoy it. The AC in one of our cars decided to go out the other day when we drove out 3o minutes to shoot some looks, and the ride back in 118 degree weather with no AC was absolutely brutal. I felt like I was going to faint by the time we got home! On top of hydrating, keeping as cool as possible outside is so important when it’s hot. Lately, I have been beating the heat with crop tops. They are easy to wear, and super cute with high-waisted bottoms!

Thrift Finds: Frilly Dress & Wide-Rimmed Straw Hat

After finding a plethora of awesome little knick-knacks for our home at local thrift stores, I felt inspired to peruse through the clothing racks one day! Buying second-hand clothing was never really my thing, but I quickly learned that you can score worthwhile and even vintage styles at great prices if you look carefully. Sometimes, they’re new too! As you know with thrifting, it’s all about timing and luck. Since I’m pretty new to this, my list of “best thrift stores to find cool clothes” is still in the making. Hopefully in a few months, I’ll be able to share a list of my favorites in the Coachella Valley for you guys to check out! In the mean time, I’ve started a new series called “Thrift Finds” under “Fashion” on here to document my thrift finds. I hope you’ll follow along & enjoy the thrill of the thrift with me πŸ˜‰

Comeback of the Dolphin Shorts Trend

Posted on Location: 1 m read

With temperatures soaring to 120 degrees in Palm Springs, the retro dolphin shorts trend from the 80’s has definitely made a comeback in my closet. I remember wearing these shorts often growing up – they were easy to wear, comfortable, and ideal for both lounging around at home and casually running errands outside. Those of you who know me may know that I have a hard time turning down short-shorts & short skirts, because of how extra long and slim they make my legs look! Even for a relatively tall Asian girl, I’ll happily take all the height I can get. I mean, who wouldn’t, right?

Beach days, picnics, tropical getaways… wherever you’re headed this summer, straw bags are classic staples in every fashionista’s closet — especially for the warmer months upon us. They add plenty of personality and fun flair to even the simplest looks. Recently, I bought two new straw bags (girl’s gotta treat herself after all the stress with moving)! Specifically, I got one in a tote style which you may have seen in my last blog post, and a slouchy one that can be worn as a shoulder bag or a backpack depending on the occasion! For this look, I’m wearing it as a shoulder bag πŸ™‚
