Have you ever thought about painting your nails to accentuate your summer glow or bring out a bit of color in your complexion? It might sound a little random, but totally works! When you create a contrast between your skin color and the nail polish, you can instantly go from pale to sun-kissed in a matter of minutes. Just about any shade lighter than your skin tone will give a bronzed boost, but specifically there are 3 kinds of nail polishes that I can’t be without when I want to enhance my tan! I have rounded up my favorite glow-getting polishes so you can finish off summer in style 😉
If there was one makeup style I had to wear for the rest of my life, it would be the good ol’ smokey eye. As much as I’m all for embracing natural beauty, the “no makeup-makeup look” is a bit plain on me. If you haven’t noticed, I’m wearing a smokey eye in almost all my photos. I feel like it really helps to not only bring out my eyes, but the rest of my facial features too. Some may call me high-maintenance for putting on a smokey eye every time I do my makeup. However, after years of practice, I’ve definitely picked up on techniques to perfect that everyday smokey eye efficiently. If you’re looking to master a classic smokey eye in time for the fall and winter months, it’s time to stock up on some staple eye products and follow these 5 simple steps.
Originally a hit in Korea, lip tints have become widespread and popular in the United States over the years – for a multitude reasons. In my younger years of wearing makeup, I loved traditional lip gloss – no matter how sticky it was. Somehow, I was just obsessed with how the gloss looked on my lips, as it gave a much fuller appearance. As I got older, I couldn’t be bothered by my hair getting stuck in the gloss or just feeling sticky all the time. Lipsticks are often drying to my lips, so I’ve always steered clear from those whenever possible. I also didn’t like how the color would often transfer onto my teeth. Once I was introduced to lip tints, my whole lip game changed!
If there’s one beauty brand that I’ve been loyal to since my early make-up days, it’s Chanel. Well, to be fair, you can’t go wrong with Chanel anything… but their beauty products have definitely remained consistently exceptional over the years. Last week, I had to make a Nordstrom trip to replenish part of my collection, and thought I’d share my recent Chanel beauty empties that I obviously love and swear by! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I have trouble throwing away empty bottles that are pretty. After I took my flatlay, my boyfriend had to ask me, “are these just empty bottles?!” Haha. I’m convinced that I’ll collect all my Chanel empties and make my own little art piece with them someday… not a terrible idea, right?
This Sunday is National Dry Shampoo Day! Did you know that using dry shampoo has many great benefits? Not only does it save so much time, it also works wonders to keep hair looking and smelling fresh in between washes. While my mom always taught me to wash my hair everyday, I learned in recent years that over-washing can actually be detrimental. To be honest, I’ve always been a bit of a germaphobe in the sense where I wouldn’t feel comfortable getting into bed before a full shower. When I went blonde, my stylist suggested that I wash my hair only 2-3 times a week, and use dry shampoo in between washes to help maintain color among other things. To be honest, the thought gave me much anxiety (lol)!
In addition to playing dress up, I occasionally enjoy experimenting with new makeup trends and products. It’s been a while since I’ve done a creative makeup look and I am itching to try something different soon! While looking at inspiration for my next project, I wanted to share some of my favorite hot trends worth trying this Spring. Let’s get our creative juices flowing, shall we? 🙂
