Happy Fall, you guys! Palm Springs hasn’t quite gotten the autumn memo yet… I’m looking forward to temperatures dropping down below 100 degrees, and reducing AC usage at home. As we progress into the cooler months, I know that more people will be coming here to enjoy our beautiful weather! With that said, I’m continuing the Palm Springs series with another post on 15 of my favorite spots in & around my hood. There is just so much to see. I feel like no matter how long I live here, there will always be new gems to be discovered. If you’re planning a trip to the Coachella Valley, I highly recommend checking some of these Insta-worthy spots out!
In April, I wrote a blog post recapping my first year living in Palm Springs. I also did an “ask me anything” on Instagram stories not too long ago, and it seems like many of you are intrigued by what my life is like out here in the desert. So, I’ve decided to start a new “Palm Springs” category under “Lifestyle,” where I’ll be sharing fun tidbits about Palm Springs living you won’t want to miss out on! If you are planning to visit Palm Springs or simply curious about what my life is like here, visit this category often for updates 🙂 Since a few of you asked about hotels in the area, I’m starting this series with 10 photogenic hotels in Greater Palm Springs that are worth checking out – or potentially staying at, if you’re in town for more than just a day!
Thrifting has become a favorite past-time for me and David the past couple of months. We are amazed at how fun and easy it is to style a living space with thrifted finds! I have been crushing on all things vintage lately, so we are always on the hunt for cool items that fit that bill when we shop at our local thrift stores. After moving into a house literally double the size of our last place, we started thrifting to fill bare walls and empty space quickly without breaking the bank. We moved from a 2 bed 2 bath (in our case, master bedroom and office) condo to a 3 bed 3 bath house… which means we actually have a guest room now!
After moving into our new house, David and I talked about buying bikes to get around locally because our community is extremely beautiful and bike-friendly. We spent plenty of time shopping around and even buying bikes we ended up not happy with. It was so hard for me to choose one because I saw many pretty ones online that were Insta-worthy but when it came time to actually riding them, most were quite off in terms of practicality. Ultimately, I wanted a cruiser that was not only cute for photos, but also practical. At the end of the day, that’s what a bike is for, right? It’s supposed to take you around where you need to go, with ease!
I’ve learned over the many years of blogging that curating an Instagram feed to reflect your personality and a certain theme takes a lot of meticulous work and dedication! Achieving consistency is another story, and something I’m still working on these days. While I have my ups and downs, I think I’ve finally found a style that speaks to me. Using certain phone applications have helped make planning and creating consistent content much easier. Since I get so many questions about photography and the tools I use to create my content, I’ll start by sharing which phone apps I use often!
After graduating from UCSD, I moved around a lot. I stayed in San Diego for a bit where I met my now-partner, and then moved to LA to pursue modeling. Stuck around for two years, and went back and forth between my tiny room and David’s spacious condo in San Diego once we started dating. The third and final year in LA, David moved and we got our first apartment together. Fast forward to 2018… Facebook reminded me not long ago that it’s been one amazing year in good ol’ Palm Springs!
