Colors to Wear to Accentuate Your Tan

Who else out there has been laying out at the beach or by the pool lately to get that perfect sun-kissed tanned skin? Honestly, I hate baking out under the sun for several reasons. The obvious one is, well, simply put, it’s not good for you. No tan is worth skin cancer. Secondly, it’s quite uncomfortable. IΒ mean seriously though, unless I’m in the pool and staying cool, “tanning” actually makes me feel burnt, tired, and dehydrated. Lucky for me, my Singaporean genes allow me to get dark pretty easily and quickly with even a bit of sun exposure.

I’ve been trying to make some time to get some vitamin D a few times a week amidst my busy work schedule, but it’s nothing like hours at a time under the sun. Aside from that, I’ve learned that wearing certain colors bring out my tan more so than others. If you’re looking to show off your tan as much as possible this summer,Β here are some colors that you may just find yourself wearing on repeat this season!

WHITE

If you have even a medium tan, anything white is going to accentuate it. Because it’s so light, it will make your skin look darker than it really is. For those with cooler toned skin, a crisp white will look best. Those with a more golden undertone will look great in off-white clothing.

CORAL

Coral is a great color if you want to look vibrant and rosy fresh. I’ve also found that other colors in the family (like orange, tan, and mustard yellow) will also do the trick! These warm tones will make you look healthy and radiant.

MAGENTA

I can’t tell exactly why or how magenta (and the colors in the family like pink, blush, etc.) makes me look tanner, but it does. I’m thinking it might be because it can have a tiny hint of neon to it, which really helps to bring out skin color. Blush pink is a mix between magenta and an off-white, so there’s that. When I wear pink, I try to go brighter so that it really pops against my skin.

NEONS

Ever wonder why gals naturally look so much tanner when they wear a TRIANGL bikini? Well, the answer is: You can’t go wrong with wearing neon anything. Neon colors may be a bit out of the comfort zone for some, but they are definitely fun to wear in the summer. I definitely recommend giving it a try the next time you’re headed to the beach!

LIGHT COLORS & PASTELS

Want to look tan and toned at the same time? Opt for a pair of light denim shorts. The concept here is pretty similar to wearing white; the contrast will bring out a nice golden glow all season long! The lighter the shade, the darker your skin will appear in comparison. In addition to light denim shorts, you could try a lilac top or a muted pink camisole. The options are endless!

What colors do you like to wear to show others how much fun you’ve been having in the sun?

I absolutely love wearing white to show off any bronzing I’ve got and coral is a great colour too! I’m like you and I hate sitting out in the sun for ages, makes me feel ill – fake tan all the way for me haha!
