How is everyone doing on their new year’s resolutions? One of my goals for 2017 is to take better care of my body and be a healthier person. This not only entails being more active, but also eating fresher foods and putting in extra effort to stay hydrated. Being the tea lover that I am, I have partnered up with Traditional Medicinals and Walmart to show you how I stay healthy and cleanse my body on a regular basis. For those who aren’t familiar, Traditional Medicinals is a tea brand readily available for purchase at great prices at Walmart. They have a plethora of different flavors to suit every tastebud. Each type of tea is good for different things, whether it be recovering from seasonal ailments or detoxing after the holidays.
I don’t get sick often, but this month has been an odd one for LA, weather-wise. My body had a hard time with the rain that went for 2 weeks straight, and I unfortunately caught the bug. For the two weeks I was recovering from my cold, I drank their “Throat Coat” and “Breathe Easy” religiously. These two really helped alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of my cold, which included a terrible sore throat and a stuffy nose. “Throat Coat” has a sweet, earthy flavor, while “Breathe Easy” is a little more bittersweet with hints of aromatic citrus. My favorite thing about these teas is that they are not too rich or strong. Instead, they give me just the right amount of comfort and soothe when I drink it. Even my pug loves it! 😉
On days my body is healthy and happy, I like to switch off with some of their other teas, including the “Echinacea Plus,” “Roasted Dandelion Root,” and “Everyday Detox.” “Echinacea Plus” is great for those who enjoy organic teas and need the extra immunity boost. Of these three, my favorite is the “Everyday Detox” tea. It tastes like a classic herbal tea combining hints of all five tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, warmly spicy, and salty. Being the tart lover I am, it tastes even better with a slice of lemon!
After having a large meal, this tea promotes healthy digestion and makes my body feel cleansed. On a cold night when I’m craving a hot beverage, I often go for their “Roasted Dandelion Root” tea. This one is naturally caffeine free, so I don’t have to worry about it keeping me up all night! There is nothing better than staying warm on a cold wintery night, while giving my body a nice detox.
What are some of your favorite teas?
