ONE YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY

Today marks Style Lullaby‘s one-year anniversary!

I can hardly believe this since a big weakness of mine is not being very consistent with things I start (this blog being one of the very few). So, I definitely owe a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped to contribute to my blog, and to my readers for being so supportive through its growth! Style Lullaby would seriously be nothing without you. <3

I’m not usually one to make a big deal out of birthdays, anniversaries, and the like, but I’ll admit… this has been a great personal accomplishment. Writing has always been a passion of mine ever since my mum practically made me write journal entries from childhood, through my teen years. This taught me to be expressive and write down my feelings that I may not necessarily be able to express in a speech at any given moment.

HOW IT STARTED

After graduating from college, I moved to LA to pursue modeling, which encouraged me to study & stay up-to-date with current fashion trends and styles, along with collaborating with other creatives in the fashion industry. Somewhere along the line, I decided to start a blog as a creative outlet to display my favorite #OOTDs, fashion trends, beauty tips, and some of my unique modeling projects/editorials. I initially aimed for the blog to be about all things stylish, and my love for sheep inspired the blog’s name, “Style Lullaby.” 🙂

I am extremely lucky to have a super smart younger brother who helped me put the blog together at its initial stages when I knew absolutely nothing about web-hosting and WordPress… and a dear friend who has helped to save my blog many times whenever it experienced technical difficulties. Last but not least, I’m very thankful for my boyfriend who happens to be a talented photographer, always willing to help me take quality blog photos!

WHAT IT HAS BECOME

In addition to sharing my every day #OOTDs and beauty tips, I’ve collaborated with fashion-oriented small businesses to promote my favorite styles from their lines.

For the longest time, I strayed away from making this too personal, with fear it could become “too much.” Through the months, I have been blessed enough to have readers give me suggestions & feedback on how to improve Style Lullaby. Since then, I’ve started incorporating a wider variety of posts covering topics outside of style & beauty as well. In such posts, I have slowly opened up and feel that this personal touch has added to the blog by encouraging a sense of “realness.”

WHAT’S IN THE FUTURE?

I feel that consistency is the key to success in many regards, so I have been working diligently for the past month or so to really implement this into Style Lullaby. With this in mind, I intend on continuing to blog more consistently, on a variety of captivating topics related to style/fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and bits of personal experiences & tips in life — that hopefully, a wide audience can relate to and take things away from!

My aim is to keep the backbone of this blog related to style & aesthetics (in case you haven’t noticed, Style Lullaby just got a new look for its first birthday!) since that is where my strongest passion lies. However, I do hope that the transparency & authenticity of my blog posts will create a community where people can be open/real with each other.

In short, the past year has been a learning process (yes, I’ve looked back at my oldest posts and thought to myself, “what was I thinking?!”), but it’s been a fun ride so far! xx
