Revisiting a Childhood Trend: Flared Denim

How is fall treating everyone so far? It’s finally cooling down in LA and I’ve begun my fall shopping. On my last shopping spree, I came across this pair of pink flared denim from American Eagle that was on sale! It was only $30, so I had to get it. Plus, it’s really hard for me to find a good pair of jeans that actually fit me perfectly. The struggle is real… but these ones fit seamlessly, even around the bum *or lack there of* area. πŸ˜‰

Confession time!Β The last time I actually wore flared denim was back in middle school when it was really “in.” Like, waaaaayyy before skinny jeans became “the thing!” Anyone remember those days? The good ol’ carefree days, oh how I miss thee!

Even though summer has just passed, I already miss it!Β As you can tell,Β I’m not ready to let go of florals, easy-breezy tanks, and bright, airy colors. This adorable floral tank was also on sale at American Eagle for only $15. It makes for a great layering piece as well, so that was my justification for buying it. πŸ˜‰ WorkingΒ with the warm tones, I’m wearing my go-to tan purse, a tan belt, and a light brown hat to complete the look.

    I literally just bought that hat!!! I’m sooo in love with it. Us SoCal girls gotta get creative in season changes… because.. we’ll the season Durant really change that much for us. So I fake my fall style with layers lol. Along the lines of not wanting to let go of florals.

    This is such a cute fall outfit. I love the girly colors and the fun floral of that top. It was so bizarre for me when I saw that flares were back in style. I definitely remember the middle school days where they were all I would wear. Heck, I even wore them into high school! I miss those days sometimes haha!

    Flared denim has always been in style in my opinion. I have always loved it and will always choose it over skinny jeans any day! That being said… I only own skinny jeans at the moment but now that fall is here I fully intend on getting some flared jeans! Also I love how beautiful this style is while being very obtainable cost wise.

      So glad you love the trend as well! I don’t know that I can give up my skinnies but I love them both! I think flared denim usually looks best with heels or shoes with a bit of height, while I enjoy wearing skinnies with my flats πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by, Kayla!

You could totally pull them off with some platforms or even a short heel πŸ˜‰ haha I don’t know how I used to wear flares with sneakers back in the day but now I feel I can’t pull them off that way HAHA.       Hi Heather! Thanks for your sweet comment. I remember those days when I was in middle school and would tread home dirt on my flares… my mom was not happy. HAHA! Things are quite different now and I’m always so paranoid about getting my clothes dirty. It’s all about finding the flares that are the right length for you. There are definitely some flares out there that are way too long on me, as well!

      Thank you so much babe! I love American Eagle jeans because they have the “short,” “regular,” and “tall” jeans! LOL I’m a regular but have other friends shorter than me who benefit greatly from the “short” versions. Maybe you could look into that! I have a pretty petite frame myself (not necessarily short but I have small bones) so I can relate too. For me, wearing baggy clothes can be tricky because they might just look like they swallow me.
