A Peek Into Spring

IMG_1728

Who else had enough of the rain last week? I sure did! I was really happy there was a day of pure sunshine earlier before the huge downpour. Needless to say, I took full advantage of the great weather.ย I am thrilled to partner up with American Eagle again to share with you my first look of 2017. On this sunny day, I woreย AEO’s gorgeous printed slip dress featuring a delicate lace trim & a beautiful rose pattern. I know we’re still in the middle of January, but I think we could all use a bit of cheery Spring feels after a week of non-stop rain! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’mย usually not one forย too many prints, but this dress stole my heart the moment I saw it. Firstly, the eyelash lace trim reminded me of the perfect bralette I’ve been looking for to layer under my cozy sweaters! This type of lace is just as flattering on this little number. I can wear an oversized sweater over it, or opt for a knit cardigan… but for this look, I chose to wear AEO’s white denim jacket from last summer’s collection. Since the dress is black, I wanted to bring out the feminine florals & brighten up the look a bit.ย Lastly, theย dress and jacket pairing makes a fairly simple outfit, so I dressedย it up with a statement pink bag and nude heels.

Until the sun starts to shine again, I’ll be wearing this dress under my favorite cardigans and sweaters. I love versatile pieces that I can easily style with other lovedย items in my wardrobe. This one is definitely my latest favorite. Not only is it comfortable to wear and super lightweight, it’s also a fantastic transitional piece from Winter to Spring!

What are you looking forward to wearing most next season?

  1. Omg this is such a cute look! Can’t believe the jacket and dress are both from American Eagle! I definitely need to make a stop soon ๐Ÿ˜ You look beautiful as always xoxo

  2. You pull this girly dress off so gracefully and with such elegance as only you can. And to lighten the dark dress up by wearing the white jacket even made the look more complete! What I’m looking forward to wear next season? Well, whatever that doesn’t include long johns or chunky socks, haha. No, but on a more serious note I’m looking forward to wearing lots and lots of green and pink in all shades. ::)

    1. Thanks Thomas! Haha I can’t wait to see you wear more green and pink! ๐Ÿ˜‰ lol I think it’s still too cold for you over there to ditch your long johns and chunky socks… hehe

  3. You are always picking out the best American Eagle finds girl! Wish my luck was this good every time I went shopping. This look makes me so excited for Spring! Excited to put away my beanies, heavy fur coats, and rain boots and wear shorts and tanks again.

    1. They have some amaaaazing sales lately! I got a couple pairs of jeans and love them (that says a lot because I’m not one to like jeans or pants in general usually) haha ๐Ÿ˜›

  4. You look so gorgeous, Sharon! I love this dress- such a pretty print and I love the pops of pink!
I can’t wait for Spring now so I can wear outfits like this, although the dress would also look great under a sweater! I wonder when American Eagle here will start stocking this collection! Soon, I hope!

    1. Thanks Mariann! I am really loving all your wintery outfits perfect for snowy weather. Last winter when I went to NYC it was so warm and I packed nothing but clothing meant for the snow. LOL. Honestly since I don’t see snow much here, I often long for it. I hope you’re staying warm and dry babe xx

    1. Thank you so much Alya! I need to visit London soon… maybe in spring or summer since I hate the cold! Haha

  5. I know we aren’t used to so much rain, but it has been nice for a change. But I can’t complain when the sun peeks out too. This floral slip dress is perfect for spring and into summer as well. I love the lace trim and how you styled it with the white denim jacket. Such a girlie dress and I can even see you tucking it into a pair of jeans and wearing it as a top too. Very versatile. I can’t wait for spring to come so we can get into the fun prints soon. xoxo, Christine

    1. The rain was quite a refresher to say the least, but my body certainly is not liking the sudden weather changes ๐Ÿ™ think I got a cold and am doing everything I can to ward it off ASAP now lol. Hopefully you’ve been staying dry and warm! Thanks for stopping by and for being so sweet as always xoxo

  6. The rain we’ve been having lately has been intense! I’m all for it, but am not used to carrying a brolly around and have got caught in a few heavy showers. I’ve even had to bring my 40+ succulents inside to prevent them from getting overwatered! Haha.

I love this peek into spring. Your outfit is the perfect transition from Winter to Spring in LA. I love the multiple strap detail at the back of the dress. As for what I’m excited about wearing next season, I can’t wait to get out my sandals out again! We’re lucky Winter is so short here but I’m still bored of wearing boots now! xxx

    1. I know right?! I usually hate the rain but I guess we really needed it. I’m glad the sun came out a bit today but I heard it will start raining again soon and into this weekend. Can’t put those umbrellas away just yet! Hope you’ve been staying warm and dry. I think I caught a cold and am doing everything I can to ward it off now lol. I cannot wait to wear sandals again too!

  7. This dress definitely looks like a piece that can be worn in so many ways, which I love! It’s a beautiful springtime dress on it’s own, but paired with a jacket or sweater is such a great idea as well! It suits you perfectly!
