Nothing But Good Times

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year celebration and first week of 2018! This year, I didn’t really make any formal new year resolutions because let’s face it — most of the resolutions I made 10 years ago are either still waiting to be accomplished or straight up forgotten (lol). So, I’m keeping it simple this year… I just want to have nothing but good times! πŸ˜‰

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year celebration and first week of 2018! This year, I didn’t really make any formal new year resolutions because let’s face it — most of the resolutions I made 10 years ago are either still waiting to be accomplished or straight up forgotten (lol). So, I’m keeping it simple this year… I just want to have nothing but good times! πŸ˜‰

On a spontaneous shopping trip to Forever 21 last week, I came across this statement sweater which I found to be quite fitting. What better way to start off the year, right? I wanted to go for something that was a little bit sporty, grungy, and chic all at the same time. Since the sweater is more of a boxy fit that could pass as a longer crop style, I decided to layer a flannel shirt underneath. This helped to fill the sweater a bit more on my smaller frame and texturize the look.

I spotted this floral denim skirt from afar and fell in love with it. To my surprise, it fits me perfectly in a size 24! Honestly, I’m a sucker for all types of denim skirts. Unfortunately though, I’d say that 98% of them don’t fit my body right. So… I rarely get to wear them! Usually, it’s too loose around the waist, too short, too long, or straight up looks awkward somehow. Anyone else have this problem of finding the perfect denim skirt?

We rarely have cloudy days in the desert but when we do, we try to take advantage of them. It’s fun shooting with blue skies in the background, but the softer light is a lot friendlier for even skin tone. Plus, it’s a nice change of mood and scenery too! We’ve been scouting out new locations locally and found this hidden gem that is actually an abandoned construction site. Helped to add to that grungy feel I was hoping to achieve!

What are your thoughts on this look? Would you like to see more #OOTDs on the blog from me this year or something else? Lately I’ve been feeling my creative juices coming back and have some ideas for good fashion and beauty posts. But, I’d love to hear what you’d like to see from me too!

My entire outfit except the boots were from my local Forever 21. It looks like the pieces are not currently available online so I’ll be linking some of my favorite similar styles below. These are all recent buys though, so if you’re looking to find the exact pieces, I’d recommend checking out your local store as they may be in-store styles only. πŸ™‚
