Calvin Baby

I can’t believe it’s the end of the year already! 2017 was definitely filled with great opportunities and I’m looking forward to seeing what 2018 has in store. I know I haven’t been very good at blogging consistently this year but am planning to change that. If there are any specific topics you’d like to see me write about, let me know in a comment below or message me on Instagram 😉

Before we officially wrap this year up, I wanted to quickly share one of my favorite photo series ‘Calvin Baby‘ done in 2017. David and I had been wanting to do a fun shoot out in the sand dunes for the longest time, but it was scorching hot in the desert when we moved in April. A couple months ago, we finally made it out there and everything totally worked out in our favor! Nobody there, beautiful clouds were out, and the weather was perfect. There was a bit of wind but it was the perfect amount to get that nice movement in my hair.

In the new year, I aim to do more fashion shoots for fun like this. Don’t get me wrong — it’s always a good time shooting content for brands. But, to avoid burn out, it’s also important to do things for yourself too. This shoot definitely got my creative juices flowing!

I’ve learned that getting the perfect shot entails more than just putting together a nice outfit. This look was very simple and I didn’t put too much effort into styling, but the location and colors made the photos turn out so well. As a major homebody, it’s hard for me to travel because I get exhausted so damn easily. It actually frustrates me to no end because I’ll envy others who take phenomenal shots in unseen places while I sit on my couch wishing that was my life. With that said, I definitely want to set aside some travel next year to explore new terrains and hopefully get some of those incredible shots that I admired from afar in 2017. All about getting out of my comfort zone… slowly but surely!

Bring it on, 2018.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions? What do you look forward to most in 2018?

  5. Ok, If I was straight I’d kick David out like in a second. You look absolutely fantastic in #mycalvins and the idea for the photo shoot is brilliant. As for New Years resolutions I never make any as I make things happen straight away instead. That’s just my view on things and doesn’t mean resolutions are wrong, but they’re just not for me. Happy New Year babe!

    1. Thank you love! I look forward to seeing more of your creative shoots this year. I totally agree with you that it’s much harder to travel far in the cold. I really want to get some cool shots in the snow but every time we go somewhere snowy I just want to stay in and cuddle up in bed LOL.

    1. Hi Laura, thank you for your kindness! I appreciate it. This is probably going to sound bad but I actually don’t really work out consistently 🙁 I really should though LOL. I have a gym membership that’s been only used once this year but had been unused for maybe 2-3 months end of 2017. I go on occasional hikes with my boyfriend and when I do go to the gym I do focused workouts (i.e. abs, inner thighs, or wherever I want to see results). I don’t like cardio! Lol
