Blingin’ Blue for the Holidays

***Special thanks to Clarins for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.***

With the holidays coming up, I’ve been feeling my creative juices flowing with make-up. In fact, I’ve been toying around with different eyeshadows and color combinations to come up with a variety of fun looks. I’ve always loved a good smokey eye, but usually stick with my typical black smokey. For Halloween this year, I tried a pink/purple combo and aimed for a unicorn inspired look. Did you see it on Instagram? While I’m no makeup expert, I have definitely felt inspired to get better with it these days. Plus, practice makes perfect πŸ˜‰

In related news, Clarins just sent me their Essentials Eye Makeup Palette and I am in LOVE! It has all the colors I need to create the perfect smokey eye this fall & winter. It even comes with a handy stencil that gives you some eye make-up ideas if you’re not feeling as creative.

The palette consists of 10 luminous shadows infused with wintery hues that takes one from day to night no matter the occasion. You’ll find a wide range of pearly, matte, satin, and shimmery finishes allowing you to create a plethora of looks. Made with pure plant extracts, every shade is super pigmented and evenly glides onto the eyelids with ease.

After receiving this, I was challenged to create a holiday-ready look incorporating all the colors in one go. Being my first time attempting a blue smokey eye, I’d say that it turned out pretty well.

For any smokey eye, I start light at my inner corners and work my way to the dark side as I move to the outer corners of my eyes. With that said, I blended the first four shades on my inner corners of my eyelids, starting with the pearly white. As I got to the middle, I transitioned to the fifth and sixth shades in the palette. At this point, I had pretty soft, muted eyes that could pass for a casual day look. To make it smokey though, I finished the outer corners with the darker colors in the palette. Finally, I lined my lower lash line with the last 2 dark shades to achieve the dramatic bold look.

For added definition, I added slight wings on the top lash line and some black eyeliner on the bottom lash line. While the eyeshadow alone was pretty dramatic already, these finishing touches really helped to make the eyes POP even more! I also tried something totally new to me — BLUE mascara! I was beyond stoked because it worked so well with this color palette. In light of the holidays around the corner, I was in a shimmery mood. So, I topped it all off with my favorite cosmetic glitter beneath my eyes for that extra sparkle.

A little fun fact for all my friends into green beauty — you’ll be delighted to learn that this palette is extremely eco-friendly.Β All of the materials from the eyeshadow pans, eyeshadow applicator to the palette have been carefully selected to comply with eco-responsible standards. Pretty rad if you ask me!

What make-up look would you create with Clarins’ Essentials Eye Makeup Palette?
